Common questions
Seven notes about how Stopset stores, finds, protects, and removes your trip information.
Where is my trip data stored?+
Stopset stores its library and imported attachments inside the app's protected storage on this iPhone. There is no Stopset account or developer-operated cloud service.
How do I make a backup?+
Open Settings in Stopset, choose Create Backup, then use Share Backup to save the .stopsetbackup file to a destination you control. Keep a recent copy somewhere other than the phone.
How do I restore a backup?+
Open Settings, choose Restore Backup, and select a .stopsetbackup file. Stopset validates it before replacing the current library and attachments.
Why is a file shown as missing?+
The library still has a reference to the file, but its local attachment is no longer present. Check Settings → Offline Checklist. A backup made before the file went missing may contain a recoverable copy.
Why does the map or place search need internet?+
Saved place details remain in Stopset, but Apple Maps supplies place-search results and map imagery over the internet. Those Apple services may be unavailable in airplane mode or with poor connectivity.
Does Stopset sync between devices?+
No. Version 1 stores data locally and does not include iCloud or account-based sync. Export a backup to move or safeguard your library.
How do I delete my data?+
Delete individual trips and files in Stopset, or delete the app from your iPhone to remove its local app data. Delete exported backup copies separately from wherever you saved them.
